Herb Brown

Assistant General Counsel and Director of Tax and Securities Compliance

Herbert “Herb” C. Brown, Jr. received a BA from Tulane University with honors.
Herb earned his J.D. from Southern University Law Center with honors and an
LL.M. (legal masters) in taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of
Law with honors. Herb began his career as an associate attorney in the Chicago
office of Jenner & Block, LLP. During his time with Jenner & Block, Herb worked
in both the tax and corporate departments. In the corporate department, Herb handledseveral securities matters, including private offerings, Initial Public offerings(IPOs), due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and general securitiescompliance and disclosures. In the tax department, Herb worked on general tax planning and compliance, including international tax and tax controversy matters.


Herb later worked as a Professor of Law at Southern University Law Center. As a
Professor, Herb taught several courses, including partnership tax, corporate tax,
legal writing, and constitutional law. In 2012, 2013, and 2014, the student body
named Herb Professor of the Year. Herb went on to join the Ornstein-Schuler team, working as Assistant General Counsel for its real estate investment portfolio.

In his current role as Assistant General Counsel and Director of Tax and Securities Compliance for Dental Pitch Brokerage, Herb manages all corporate, securities, and legal compliance matters. He also oversees the support staff for all other legal affairs, such as acquisitions, due diligence, and audits. 

Herb lives in Atlanta with hisdog, Deogi. He enjoys weightlifting, CrossFit, traveling, football, and tacos. Herb is actively working with law schools to assist with preparing recent law school graduates for the Illinois, Georgia, and Louisiana Bar Exams.
